When Should Your Child Have Their First Visit to the Dentist?
Our board-certified pediatric dentist, Dr. Powell, as well as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommend a child visit the dentist by their first birthday.
That visit will entail an introduction to our friendly team of pediatric dental professionals, a tour of the office and an introductory discussion about your child’s teeth.
We may also perform a “lap examination,” where your baby’s head will rest in Dr. Powell’s lap and their body in your lap to improve their comfort. If your child is old enough they may be able to sit in the dentist’s chair for a normal exam.
